The advent of load consolidation represented a fundamental shift in the way produce moved from Point A to Point B. Among wholesalers and grower/shippers Coast was one of the first on the West Coast to offer load consolidation. By investing in a state-of-the-art warehouse and transportation department, Coast created a system of procurement and delivery that slashed shipping times and runs, and realized greater scale on buying while simultaneously allowing mixed loads in store-ready quantities. In doing so, Coast gave clients the ability to outsource time/labor intensive work while maintaining supply chain control.
